The 12 Steps and Untethered Soul Project

A New Model for Emotional Freedom, Reintegration, and Human Transformation.

We are building a national nonprofit dedicated to transforming lives across the full spectrum of human experience, from individuals navigating incarceration, addiction, and trauma to high-performing leaders seeking clarity, resilience, and inner stability. At the heart of this work are Tim Davis and Francis O’Connor, whose partnership bridges The Untethered Soul teachings with the 12 Steps of addiction recovery. Together, they have distilled these traditions into a unified, practical methodology shaped by more than 100 years of combined lived experience, spiritual practice, leadership, and service. Their work reflects decades spent applying these principles in real-world settings, from prisons and recovery communities to executive leadership environments.

Addiction is not the root problem, it is a response to unprocessed trauma, emotional pain, and habitual mental conditioning driven by unmanaged thought patterns.

Who We Serve:

We support individuals and communities navigating high-pressure and high-vulnerability life circumstances, including incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals, people in recovery, single parents, at-risk youth, and others facing chronic stress, instability, or life transition.

The Gap in Existing Programs:

While education, job readiness, therapy, and compliance-based models are essential, many individuals lack the inner skills and relational support required for lasting change:

  • Awareness of the inner voice and habitual thought patterns that drive reactivity
  • Emotional intelligence skills for regulating stress, fear, and impulse Spiritual guidance grounded in lived experience, without religious dogma or belief requirements
  • Grounded community that reinforces accountability, belonging, and care
  • Access to qualified mentors who embody self-awareness and emotional maturity
  • Continuity of guidance during high-risk transition periods

The Result:

Without inner awareness, emotionally intelligent support, and non-dogmatic spiritual grounding, progress remains fragile and difficult to sustain.

Our Goal:

To cultivate awareness, emotional resilience, and inner freedom, supported by community and trained mentorship, so recovery, reentry, and personal transformation can endure.

Mission:

To provide educational programs that address addiction, stress, and self-defeating behavior by integrating the wisdom of the 12 Steps, diverse spiritual traditions, and modern science. Through a multi-level learning pathway, including mentor training, certification, and community support, we offer a practical, grounded approach to lasting change. Rooted in the insights of The Untethered Soul, this work fosters peace, awareness, and healing through lived, accessible spirituality.
